ABOUT THIS SITE
The Department of the Navy (Navy) is preparing a Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) to evaluate changes to the home basing alternatives and analysis contained in the 2008 Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for Introduction of the P-8A Multi-Mission Maritime Aircraft (MMA) into the U.S. Navy Fleet. The purpose of this SEIS is to supplement the home basing alternatives and analysis contained in the 2008 FEIS in light of current conditions and new information. Circumstances and conditions that have undergone significant change since the 2008 Record of Decision (ROD) are reexamined. By supplementing the 2008 FEIS, this SEIS informs Navy decision-makers and the public about the environmental effects of the proposed action to provide facilities and functions to home base P-8A squadrons. Once completed, the SEIS will meet the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969 as well as all applicable state environmental regulations.
This website provides information about the SEIS, 2008 FEIS and ROD, supplemental NEPA process, project schedule, and alternatives to be considered in the SEIS, along with opportunities for public involvement. Updates to this website will be made throughout the SEIS process to keep you informed about the project.
